- Usage file uploads: CSV/XML files exported from SmartMeterTexas.com, which may include interval usage data and meter identifiers.
- Analysis inputs: zip code, current provider, current rate, early termination fee, and months remaining on contract.
- Email address (optional): if you opt in to receive your analysis and future reminders.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Technical logs: IP address, browser/device metadata, request timing, and error logs used for security and reliability.
- Product analytics: anonymized events like upload success/failure, analysis completion, verdict type, and plan-link click events.
3. How We Use Information
- To process your uploaded usage data and generate recommendations.
- To improve model quality, product UX, and service reliability.
- To detect abuse and enforce rate limits and security protections.
- To contact you only if you opt in with your email address.
4. Data Retention
- Usage files are processed for analysis and are not retained longer than needed for processing and logging workflows.
- Optional email-capture records are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to legal obligations.
- Security and application logs are retained for operational and audit needs.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with infrastructure and operational service providers (for example, hosting, logging, and error tracking) strictly to operate the service, and when legally required.

- You can choose not to provide optional email information.
- You can request deletion of email-capture records tied to your address.
- You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards, including transport encryption and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
